Roderick (Duncan) McLeod (MacLeod) Story

Duncan MacLeod - Regimental number 6558.

Born in the year 1882 in Launceston, Tasmania, Australia, Duncan, was 33 years and 1 month old, was a motor garage mechanic at the time he enlisted on the 5th May 1915. His next of kin was his father, Duncan Macleod of Diggers Rest, Victoria.

He was assigned to the Infantry Brigade 6,Field Ambulance 6, Reinforcement 7.
 

Duncan embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A73 Commonwealth on 26st November 1915.

 Duncan was taken on strength of the 6th Field Ambulance disembarked at Marseilles in March 1916 and served there for two years. He suffered many ailments including: septic throat, bronchitis, and dysentery.
Duncan McLeod returned to Australia on 31 December 1918.

Roderick Duncan McLeod inherited the estate of his brother, Roderick McLeod, in 1937.

Duncan McLeod was awarded the British War Medal and the Victory Medal.
