Research

We are uncovering the stories and the descendents of those servicemen and women who served in the Great War from Diggers Rest. The starting point for this quest is the World War 1 Honour Board and online databases that help those with inquiring minds.

Diggers Rest Roll of Honor Board :

Online resources that help in our search:
  • The National Archives of Australia  has opened the records of thousands of Australians who served in the early twentieth century with a searchable database.
  • In Trove you may find and get over 396,671,295 Australian and online resources: books, images, historic newspapers, maps, music, archives and more.
  • The Australian War Memorial has large collection of photos, articles and other resources.
If you know anything about those people or are a good detective then contact our club. The stories will be part of the unveiling ceremony held for the ANZAC descendents, dignitaries, and local residents.
